# Participate in Walls from the app
The **Walls** section lets attendees send **questions and comments** through the app, either with a more social purpose (for example, a *social feed*) or to submit questions to **session speakers**.

### How to access Walls
Depending on how the event has been configured, you can access Walls in two ways:
* **From the app Home**, by opening the **Walls** section.
* **From the session list or a session detail page**, when the session has a wall linked to it (for example, “Questions to speakers”).

### When you can participate in a Wall
Walls can be:
* **Always active**, or
* **Enabled/disabled on a schedule**.
When a wall is **active**, you can participate in it.

### How to post a message in a Wall
1. Go to **Walls** and open the wall you want to join.
2. Tap the **“+”** button (bottom right).
3. Write your message.
4. Send it.

### What happens to your message (moderation)
Depending on the wall settings:
* **Without moderation**: your message is published **automatically** in the app.
* **With moderation**: your message **will not be displayed** until a moderator approves it. In this case, the moderator can publish it or forward it to the speaker so they can respond to the audience.

### What you can do in a Wall
Depending on the options enabled for each wall, you may be able to:
* **Post messages**.
* **Comment** on other people’s messages.
* Give **likes** to posts or comments.
* **Post images** (if enabled).

### Public access or sign-in required
Depending on the event setup, a wall can be:
* **Public** (no need to identify yourself in the app), or
* **Sign-in required** (you must log in to participate).
